Cross Structure with box

Maybe I’ve been sublimely influence by Sonia Delaunay at the Tate and her vibrant use of colours but it was great fun working out

this mixture of colours.  There is always that wonderful moment when you are searching for the right paper and there’s only half a sheet.  Will there be enough and is the grain direction in order ……. I have had this Swiss screen printed paper which I used for about ten years lying in the plan chest.

Sewn Boards Binding

Sewn Boards Binding with open pages and beautiful Jemma Lewis marbled paper.

Students at Dillington House

The Hyde Studio at Dillington House and light, airy and most pleasant workroom for a day and a half of bookbinding.

Dillington House, Somerset

A new gallery in Somerset

I have known these buildings which Hauser & Wirth have magnificently converted into a Gallery for a long time.  I used to pass them by regularly and admire their solidarity and genius loci.  So when we went to visit them the other day I was enchanted by the old postcards they have reproduced and in this small album put them alongside the postcards of what the buildings look like now.
